I'm running Sailfish OS EA3 1.0.8.19 on a Nexus 4. The web browser reliably crashes when I ask it to stream music in a .m3u playlist from archive.org.

Here is a web page on archive.org to try: https://archive.org/details/gd1976-06-03.mtx.seamons.ht06.123898.flac16

Select the VBR M3U link on the left side of the page. The browser will crash.

In this example, the music is in the MP3 format. I know this because I downloaded the .m3u file on my computer and examined it. Every entry ends in ".mp3". I downloaded the first file and it was an MP3 file for certain.

Doesn't work on Jolla phone either. The browser doesn't crash, but doesn't play the file either, the applet buffers continuously but never plays.

You'd be better, for now, to save the .m3u file on your pc and bluetooth/usb it over to your phone.

Mediaplayer should handle the .m3u file. Not very practical I know, but is a work-around for now.

I've just tested the .m3u file you linked, saved it on pc, sent it to phone, opened Mediaplayer, it worked as expected.
