I have a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t laying around catching dust. Since it was already running Mer just fine (see below) it should be relatively easy to put x86 SailfishOS on it.

  • Is there any interest in such project?
  • Is it even feasibe to work on it today, without waiting for tablet release? (x86 packages repository, etc.)

I believe this TJC forum is primarily meant for Jolla device discussions. For other hardware, I suggest you check IRC channel #sailfishos-porters where you can get help.

@smoku: The IRC channel is currently the best place to get an answer and possible traction for hardware adaptation, so please, ask there, thanks!

@eric Is this patronizing really necessary? I'm not as dumb as you think I am, you know...

@smoku: Take it easy, never implied you are dumb, just emphasizing that if an answer is selected as correct, it usually is. Hope you'll receive the needed guidance and answers on the channel...

I have an IdeaPad S12 (the VIA CPU version), it might be interesting as a dev machine to work on software for the tablet. Since Sailfish is heavily relying on touch input and gestures, I only see Sailfish on non-touch systems as a proof of concept.

But anything that helps you, @smoku, in developing the pebbled is much appreciated.

A touchpad should be able to mimic the gestures if it's multitouch. ...at least that is what I hope for. With some luck I will use the phone as the heart if a tiny desktop some day.

"t" in S10-3t is for touch-screen ;-)
