Difficult to understand what you mean. What exactly did you try? Send a file via Bluetooth? Send a file via USB? What operating system runs on your computer? Which type of file was it? Image, audio, PDF? (Makes a difference when trying Bluetooth.) You need to give more information so people here can help you like your platform, OS and the Jolla SW version...
Seeing as you are not giving much away, despite being prompted to give as much detail as possible, I'm going to guess that you have not got the right USB driver installed.
If you are not getting any indication on your PC, that your Jolla is connected, then visit http://www.driverscape.com/download/rndis and install the driver version correct for your computer.
Download and install this one;
Description: RNDIS Driver Installer
File Version: 8.4
File Size: 2.33M
Supported OS: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP
If the above doesn't help you, come back and let us know, but please, give more information as Ossi suggests, the more info we have, the quicker and easier it is to help you! :)
when connecting the phone, (unlock it and) choose the appropriate connection type
'USB switch' from Jolla store is helpful
i.g. PC Suite for file transfer
