portrait notification behaviour is strange

scenario: You lie in bed and the phone is tilted like your head. Homescreen is fixed in portrait, but other apps are not and so they are switching to landscape mode.

  • phone holding in landscape position, home screen on
  • open notifications

expected and result: notification opens in portrait mode

  • phone holding in landscape position, app running in portrait mode (because of tilted while finger on screen)
  • open notifications

expected: notification opens in portrait mode

result: actually displays in portrait mode while finger is on the screen while opening the portrait mode, but it switches to landscape mode, the moment the finger leaves the screen and the notifications are visible. This is driving me kind of crazy, since I have to rotate the phone all over again for the app, only because I just wanted to look at facebook/twitter/...

dosn't work, keeps changing to landscape mode

to reproduce, use web browser and hold mobile in landcape mode, while browser is active in portrait mode and screen rotation is enabled

every mobile has this problem... mine too.. i think its a kind of a bug but it really isn't .... this is the feature of the dynamic screen orientation ... .

by keeping the finger on the screen and temporarily changing the orientation does the job. but switching the app does turn orientation to the accelerometer ...

to avoid this while lying in your bed.. change the orientation to either portrait or landscape not to dynamic ...

hope this helps :)
