Problem to install Android market - 1mobile [answered]

I have a Jolla with software version: 1.0.8.21

I want to install some Android apps on my phone, so I have first installed "Android support" from Jolla Store.

Then I want to install "1mobile Market" from the homepage. I have downloaded the apk-file 1MobileMarket_600.apk to my phone. I goes to "File Browser" from Jolla Store and find the apk-file under Downloads. I press one time, swip down and choose install. A message arrives: "Install launched - If nothing happens, then the package is properly faulty"

And nothing happens. I have followed some guides to install it, but the sites I have been on is talking about, that under download I have to choose mobile. If I understand it correct there are different versions of 1MobileMarket to different types of devices. But I can't find a specific place where I can find the mobile version. I think maybe the site 1mobile.com has been changed a little bit and then I can't choose mobile version anymore.

I have downloaded differents versions of the apk-file (1MobileMarket_600.apk, 1MobileMarket_604.apk, 1MobileMarket_621.apk and 1MobileMarket_622.apk) from 1mobile.com, but any of this does work.

Are there someone who can help me with my problem, please.

I am not sure, but it looks like you have to "start alien dalvik" first after installing "Android Support", in order to be able to install downloaded apk files. Have a look at: https://together.jolla.com/question/61240/install-of-apk-packages-fails-with-fresh-installed-android-runtime/

Copied 1MobileMarket_600.apk to my phone and installed it from the shell.

  # apkd-install 1MobileMarket_600.apk

Works, but I am removing it immediately as it requests access to phone calls, take pictures and videos etc... Not the things some kind of app-store/package manager should do.

(I am on the u9 opt-in though)

Thanks for your answer.

With your info about the privacy and 1MobileMarket app, I understand your decision to uninstall it again.

Can you recommend another marketplace instead of 1MobileMarket?

I use F-Droid (for FOSS applications) and Aptoide (for others), I haven't needed any other stores with that combination.

There are three Android app markets (Yandex, Aptoide and Anzhi) ready for installation directly in the Jolla Store...
