Cleaning of clipboard causes crash of all running android apps. Then android apps can not start till some text is not copied to the clipboard. Alien Dalvik restart does not solve this problem (restart of phone does).

EDIT: Update 11 solved this problem. :) THX Sailors

EDIT2: Issue exists again on 2.0.2.48 (confirmed on Jolla C)

EDIT3: Issue exists again on 2.0.4.14 (confirmed on Jolla C)

EDIT4: Issue has existed since 2.0.2.48 in Jolla 1, too

Good finding, thank you for the report

Also, after such a a crash, I can no longer paste new content into the clipboard from native apps. The clipboard will always contain the string that I deleted, not the new one I pasted. This does not happen when I clear the clipboard from within a native sailfish app, it works as expected afterwards.

@droll: I do this by tapping and holding on the clipboard icon then select clean.

@ossi1967: My clipboard is purged and I can copy some text normally (SMS message for example).

I am also encountering the same problem.

A quick fix without restarting the phone:

Just copy any text to the clipboard; find any text box in any app (let's say notes), type any text, then highlight it, then launch your Android apps again.

Or

Restarting the keyboard service seems to fix the problem; in terminal issue the following command:

systemctl --user restart maliit-server.service

That should restart the keyboard service.

Hopefully, the Sailors at Jolla will release a fix for it soon.

thanks! I was wondering why I had to reboot every single time before starting android stuff!

Same here with Jolla Phone. Android app crashes but cover is still there and app is kind of restarted if tapping on cover.

Same here, with some apps, not all, on Jolla C-converted Intex AquaFish, running 3.0.1.11

I have this problem, I found 2 ways to solve it

1) restart the phone ( uncomfortable, very uncomfortable )

2) I clean the clipboard only using Sailfish apps like browser or sms ( andorid apps are in multitasking and nothing crashes)

I can say that the second option does not work. I even tried to restart alien, but no effect. Only after rebooting the phone I could start Android apps again. And I'm running .27 Vaarainjärvi.

Same on latest early release software 2.0.2.48 - I updated the question. Haven't tested it yet on Jolla 1 - could someone do that with latest SW release?

@caprico thank you for updating the question

Issue is still on 2.0.2.51 at least on my Jolla Phone 1. It's really annoying when you're trying to link something and after that Whatsapp etc just suddently crashes.

I can confirm this too, but I'm usinh JP1 and running Sailfish OS 2.0.4.14. It's very annoying when you're cleaning the clipboard and the app crashes, and it takes a lot of time to get the app working again (you have to reboot, restart aliendalvik or lipstick etc.)

E: Issue still on SailfishOS 2.1.0.9
