@Jolla: if it's a feature, it's great, if it's a bug please never fix it!

while starting an app, immediatly press power-button to lock the screen

after that, you can unlock the screen and you will go directly to this app again

you can lock and unlock your phone as often as you want, you will always be back in this app directly again

if you have glance screen enabled, it will show you live view of this app (no matter if native or dalvik), when you take the phone out of your pocket

if you want to switch to another app, just do whatever you want and after that, press the power-button immediatly after launching it from the multitasking view again and it will work the same way again

For those who don't know that glance screen is, here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJUrAXwlG-s

here is how to activate it: https://together.jolla.com/question/937/glance-screen/#post-id-50215

Yes this is normal as long as the delay of, I think 10s hasn't passed. This was release quite a long time ago. On top of that, you will have with the latest update 1.1.1.26 something interesting with the Power Key. See also here the previous topic.

hm, i guess you didn't understand what i was writing about... i know, it's a bit hard to explain, but also i'm afraid, you really didn't read carefully enough.

i'll try to explain it to you by the differences between what you are talking about and what i'm talking about:

  • what you mean only works for a short time (30s i think) while what i mean works for hours

  • what you mean only works, when the display shuts down autmatically, while what i mean works also, when you lock the display manually

  • what you mean does not work with the glance screen

as this is not a question, i will answer it myself and accept the answer.

as i'm on this, it would like to consider this not as a bug, but as one of the coolest features of Sailfish, called live app

and also, i would like to make a request: please make it it a bit easier to launch an app as live app :D

I think this is a great "feature" but it has at least one down side: double tap or press powerkey to unlock your phone -> app shows immediately, but the screen timeouts after 10 seconds no matter what you had selected from the settings

i can live with that :)

It seems this bug/feature is gone in 1.1.9.28. I was using this quite a lot. Would be great to have this feature properly implemented.

Short screen timeout was ok for me. I was using this behaviour to have a quick look of a sports tracker or music player.

Looks like a bug... it seems to be presenting the app 'above' the lock screen, so the app is automatically shown, but if you close it with the close gesture then the lock screen is presented.
