Is it possible to add birthdays to the Birthday calendar independent of contacts ? If not, can this be made possible, please?

It would be especially useful for family of contacts, who don't otherwise warrant a full record - e.g. children.

One alternative is to have Spouse & Children birthday Date types in the People app.

A birthday is referring to a person, what's wrong adding that person to contacts? An alternative is to add a reoccurring all day event in the calendar.

@pmelas: I don't like the idea to add people to the people app, just to have their birthday in the birthday calendar. I have enough people there already.

@Mohjive: the people app at its very core is a database, and should be able to handle many people entries. I would rather ask Jolla to add views/groups in that database, so certain groups are hidden.

I guess that we could just add people, but if someone has 3 kids that could be 4 extra records just for birthdays - which can add to quite a bit more effort just adding them (as opppsed to just first name and date ).

I suppose adding people is the same effort as manually adding to the Birthday calendar though.

@pmelas: I'm sure that the backend could handle it, but I'm more concerned about my view and usability as a user. Adding people just for birthdays, then have to assign them to groups to be able to filter them in a later stage isn't usable imo.
