I'm using my Jolla phone as my main phone with a lot of satisfaction and I was an happy N9 user. Now my n9 sleep unused in my desk.

Why doesn't jolla consider to port officially Sailfish to the very good N9. I think users could pay something to renew their N9.

What do you think about?

If my memory serves me the first presentation of sailfish was on the N9.

I also think 80% of Jolla users own an N9...

Yes, spending an incredible amount of time and resources trying to port Sailfish OS to a device with even more ancient hardware than the Jolla phone is definitely a good idea and certainly not a waste of said time and resources! Not to mention you'll get a less functional OS than MeeGo.

Seriously, what's the point?

To give a second dignitous life to my N9.

@zaharov.andrei - your memory serves you incorrectly in this instance. The first outings for SalfishOS were shown on the Nokia N950 by Jolla, which has lower specs than N9,

Jolla will never officially support any ported versions of SailfishOS for Nokia N9/N950, this was said in the beginning by Jolla. See the link in my comment below sifartech's answer. Just saying :)

It's been done - (rather an attempt has been made) - read http://www.jollausers.com/2013/12/sailfish-ported-to-n9-mini-tutorial/ and see it in action - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gN8LBNJn30 .

(P.S: It's FREE, but I don't believe it is officially supported ...)

It's not official. And it's not usable, most functions don't work, system unstable.

Jolla have said from the beginning, they will not officially support any ported version or versions of SailfishOS for Nokia N9.

Any efforts so far, are purely community driven.

From 2012 - http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/jolla-says-no-to-official-sailfish-os-port-for-nokia-n9-57422.html

Your Answer is incorrect; it had not been done officially and nevet will, and the community port is and always will be practically useless for end-users and daily UCs (even if a nice demonstration of the community talent and effort).

@BloodyFoxy@jjaone - Thanks for clarifying that. I wasn't aware of it.
