"Show on map" for calendar event locations

A calendar event can have a location. It even has a maps-looking icon next to it. However I can't click on it to automatically open that location in the maps application. This seems like an easy to implement, but very practical, feature. This is already possible with contacts' addresses ("Show on map").

Also keep in mind that there is not only the (almost useless) default map application, but also third party map applications like modRana or Poor Maps or even Android mapping apps like Osmand.

So it would go to be able to select which mapping application (possibly excluding the Android ones) gets these events. And I can implement support for this in modRana once there is an interface available.

I'm always so frustrated when I open a calendar entry, press the address a few times before remembering "it doesn't do that", have to edit the entry to get the address or quickly memorize it, and then paste/enter it in the search of the Map app... Any gripe I have with SFOS nowadays is mostly papercut type stuff, and I think there's a lot to love now too, but I have to admit it's the one missing feature that really grates me every time.

There's a patch "Show calendar event location" in patchmanager3.

When an event location is tapped, the browser opens to search maps.google.com for the address.
