Suggestion: Connection-specific SMTP servers (like N900)
I use a multitude of network connections during the day: home WLAN when I'm home, 3G while on the road, free panOULU WLAN while near an access point (like at work), friend's WLAN when visiting etc.
There was a killer setting for this in the N900: Email -> SMTP servers -> Connection-specific SMTP servers. There I could see all my used/active connections and I could define an SMTP server for each, so I didn't have to worry which connection I was using, sent email would fly out everywhere. I poll my email from a single source (spamcop account) but send from different connections.
Any chance of having something like this? Now I can only send when I'm only connected to the 3G account that also has my sending server.
University over here denies outgoing smtp requests... so within their network I'd like to set the uni-smtp as default.
