Keep notification screen state when coming back to it [off-topic]

This is an idea/request/food for thought, and this is the use case:
1. You get a notification that is grouped (e.g., Twitter)
2. You go to the notifications view
3. You click on Twitter in this case
4. Browse through the tweets until you find one that contains a link that you are interested in
5. Click on the link, open a web page (or whatever action, as was requested elsewhere), read, be happy, come back to the notifications screen
6. Boom, you have to start all over again as you are no longer in your new tweets list
Maybe it's just me, but I find this behaviour a bit annoying - it would be nice if the notifications screen remained where I left it before I went to the browser or any application. I'm happy to go back myself to the main screen.
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but do let me know if this is a duplicate (NB: it won't be a duplicate to me if this request is buried in an answer/comment elsewhere).
