together.jolla.com - allow indexing by search engines [answered]
together.jolla.com/robots.txt disallows all indexing by search sites:
User-agent: * Disallow: /Sitemap: http://together.jolla.com/sitemap.xml
What's the reason for not allowing questions, answers and comments to be found via search engines?
Given the state of the together.jolla.com Askbot search facilities (largely broken), it would be advantageous if the site could be searched using terms such as "site:together.jolla.com" on google.com.
Granted there is a sitemap link, but for whatever reason Google isn't indexing together.jolla.com at all right now. If I search Google with site:together.jolla.com, it returns only the following link:

I'm going to buck the trend and say no... it shouldn't be indexed. Those who contribute ideas, comments, etc. should also be publishing their interactions to their online spaces which are indexed and allow for better (deeper) relational relevance to those ideas. (edited, cut)
arjwright ( 2014-01-01 21:04:38 +0200 )edit@arjwright: what online spaces, Facebook, Twitter, GitHub etc? I don't have twitter, should I start a separate project on github for my Jolla/SailfishOS/AskBot ideas or should I make (my only) public posts on Facebook with links here?
Mohjive ( 2014-01-01 22:27:51 +0200 )edit@Mohjive - you don't have your own server/services that you use for public or private discussion? Using workflow-tech like IFTTT or {on}x its not impossible to post on places like here and have it appear in those other spaces. Its easy. Everyone should own their rep and discussion space.
arjwright ( 2014-01-01 23:08:28 +0200 )edit@arjwright: I don't think you understood my view. Even if I did have services, like my blog, they may be for different purposes. And even if everyone should own their own repo not everyone is ready to set one up just to share an idea, and their ideas might just be super. This might shut people out
Mohjive ( 2014-01-02 00:15:02 +0200 )edit@Mohjive I do understand, hence why I responded as an answer (initially). You want this place to be easily found. I responded that the responsibility to find it should be on us/our web spaces rather than Jolla or their robots.txt. Not the answer most give to these I suppose. But I get you.
