Alarm / Timer sound does not play in headphones

I am paired with my Bluetooth headset and have a podcust running gPodder. Meanwhile a timer is running. When time's up the sound from gPodder is silenced and the alarm sound goes off, but the later plays only from internal speaker. Expected: it should play on the headphones.
