Bring 3G only and 4G only option for the network selection, like 2G only option.
This will help you, but first you need to install PatchManager .
I believe the current settings Prefer 4G / Prefer 3G are what you are looking for.
Prefer 4/3G uses 4/3G when available and falls back to 3G/2G if not. You cannot restrict it to use only 4/3G as this would result in losing connectivity where no such network exists.
I think by using common sense people would know that when they select 3G or 4G only option, they'll lose Connectivity when they go out of that network range. The reason i asked for this feature is cuz for me, when i choose Prefer 3G, it changes back to 2G more often, even though there is full range 3G coverage! BlackBerry 10 has this feature, i think android has it too, so why not Jolla?

There's been some connection issues and I believe this is not the only version with some issues with the mobile networks, so...it's a work in progress. Just guessing, but I think Jolla needs stronger signal than average, that's why it drops connection.

pan tau ( 2015-02-23 17:19:05 +0200 )editI guess that the reason is security: by forcing 3G/4G you make it mandatory for phone to authenticate the network (base station) and use different more advanced ciphering. Encryption used in GSM network also depends on network (country).. This option would give some more resistance against fake base stations (google e.g. "IMSI catcher").
hzb ( 2015-02-23 18:57:55 +0200 )edit@pau tau are you a troll or for real? I think this feature is almost on all platforms, atleast on BB10 which is my primary phone. And please read my reply below, it answers your question.
