Differences between Tablet and Phone for SFOS 2.0
We 've seen the videos and the question is simple. Is everything we see in the tablet videos going to be on the phone also. Ie. status bar (please no) etc.
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

There are videos with SFOS2.0 on phone too. Yes it looks totally like on tablet.

This video has a (somewhat) more complete overview of SailfishOS 2.0 on the Jolla Phone:

Events view, yay!
That looks terrible. We loose the organic flow from the lock screen to the home screen to the launcher. The unique look of SFOS is slowly fading to be more like Android and iOS with individual screens instead of this beautiful flow:

And locking the screen by pulling down from beyond the top of the screen seems to give some awkward ambiances options instead of locking the screen. Good thing that you can still lock the screen by taping the power button, or is that being removed as well?
oenone ( 2015-03-02 21:10:10 +0200 )editI actually like the lock screen more. In fact, it's actually more intuitive to use the same swipe gesture for opening the device from lock screen and going back to home screen from an app since the same gesture returns to the main multitasking screen. I never even locked the device by swiping down from the home screen. Instead I used the close app gesture to lock the device.
Toxip ( 2015-03-02 21:40:47 +0200 )edit@Morpog, yes, I recall the N9 ui and I am not complaining about the swiping, I am complaining about the change from a vertical 'ribbon' (yes, I know that 'ribbon' is used to describe Microsoft's interface in Office but look at it more positively) based work-space to a card-based interface.
Cards are what everyone else is doing. The 'ribbon' was intuitive and organic. That is the loss I am grieving.
oenone ( 2015-03-03 09:25:57 +0200 )edit@Toxip the "close app gesture" is swiping down (swiping is referred to as gestures from outside the screen, inside moves are called pulls), unlocking the lock-screen should be a pull-gesture without the need to pull an arrow as it looks like in some of the videos. Looks like adding a pullable button to me. Yes I said button again!

W00t! Is that a statusbar???
tortoisedoc ( 2015-03-02 19:59:49 +0200 )edit@tortoisedoc - I think the status information is only on the lock screen and the home screen, not on every application. So.... not completely backtracking, just a bit of a compromise?
I suppose on a larger screen device, you can afford the extra space on the home screen. Plus, the shortcuts on the home screen have been moved to the notification/status screen, I think.
