I think it's fine to have your phone getting older look, but I just got my phone less than two weeks and starting seen some tiny chips/scratches that peeling off the black painting on the metal body.

So I am just curious how is your phone condition now?

After 14 months of ownership am seeing some obvious paint wear on the metal edges at the top of the phone.

Yes I also see the paint wear and it is real ugly to see the metal underneath. Now I really like the n9 there is no issue with the paint there and chips and nicks do not reveal anything.

I've had my device in everyday use since the very beginning (am one of those who got their device in the Gala Event the very first day...)

The phone is pretty much in the same condition since day one, except for the main camera lens which is scratched or flaked of the lens coating. This is not a big problem since the camera is not so good quality that I'd want to use it much anyway... :(

All in all, I am amazed on the durability of the HW.

juiceme: Same thing here. All good but, the camera is scratched.

After over a year of daily use the paint is gone from all round the metal edges but that is because I always have it unprotected in my front pocket along with my keys(!). If I'd know the name of the color and find some paint I'd like to try giving my phone a new paint job... Screen is still in perfect condition. Lens looks ok too.

Got the same observations as you do - loss of paint on the edges after a few weeks. 14 months after I have no other observations of dettriorations , except for the capacity of the battery.

I generally pamper my stuff and the phone looks as good as new minus a nearly invisible hairline scratch on the screen (which i am sure only i can tell its there :P).

More than one year of ownership.

After 14 months, it has a notch in one corner due to a fall, a major scratch on the "scratchproof" glass (after which I started to use protection foils), and minor scratches on the TOH. Black colour is beginning to come away at some points along the edges.

Mine is from first batch and pretty mint still and working like a charm. Metal visible slightly on sharp edges.. no scratches or such. Have dropped few times but no damage. Keeping it in pocket, no covers. TOH seems to be taking the beat more visibly.. but thats only plastic.

Mine to. 14 months of daily usage, and as good as new. Of course my Insmat flipcase and screen protector are essential.

I have it since 3 month or so and it still looks as new. With the protection foil still on it. I don't carry it in a pocket together with metal stuff such as keys or so.

I have mine almost 14 months now, and it's in a good condition. I use it with a leather pouch (fitBAG). The phone is my main phone, it was dropped few times but there are no noticeable marks. I don't leave the phone on hard surfaces, or in pockets with keys or coins.

Annoying scratch in the screen and top edge and corners rather worn. Otherwise fine.

Bought Jolla a year ago along with an Insmat case, and also used protective foil since the first day of usage. Dropped the phone QUITE a few times, but all damage seems to be done to the case, the phone itself is still almost as new.
