How do you play Ingress on Jolla without having the risk of being banned?

I have read an old thread about this and I read that agents lost their accounts because of being banned by Google because of problems with the GPS. As there is very little amounts I could find playing Ingress on Jolla, (maybe they got extinguished?)

But it seems like long time ago. I heard a Green ( Enlighted faction) player works at Jolla.

I went to an Ingress event and was asked if one could install a different Android which would not be recognized by Google. Is that even possible?
