I tend to take lots of slightly different (macro) images of some nice detail somewhere to create an ambiance and to get the ambiance to look nice. I will delete most (or all) of the shots not used in the final ambiance, doing this however is quite cumbersome because the gallery app does not show which images are currently set as the background of an ambiance. Deleting the wrong images result in also the ambiance being deleted.

It would be handy to have a little marker in the gallery that shows which images serve as the basis of an ambiance to avoid deleting them.

How about tags like on the N9? That would be useful also for other purposes.

Ambience pictures should not be linked to your gallery directly but be saved separately on the device storage. That is giving many people a hard time as they loose all their ambiences at some point as the sdcard indexing fails or the card got removed...

Showing which pictures you have used for an ambience could be in the filedescriptor and be linked to your photos by trackerd.

Right, not just mark them in the gallery (I would not need this), copy them to a separate place, no dependency on the original photo. Would this be a new feature request, or can we use this one here?
