Does the Jolla Phone support 128gb SD cards?

Hi there!

Does it support such large cards? It's not necessary that any Windows Desktop PC recognize it!

Got two more questions: 1.) the charger is micro USB, isn't it? So that I can keep my collection of them. :) 2.) Is there a way to synchronize the calender with Google Calender or even Outlook directly?

In your case 128GB cards are supported. You just have to use some other filesystem than exFAT, which is pretty much the default on any other device that supports SDXC cards.

Charger is micro USB.

Calendar sync works with Google calendar. And as far as I know, Outlook support is also there.

@Neotopia, also as the Jolla uses MTP for USB you can use whatever filesystem you like and it will still work fine on a windows pc

Just to confirm: indeed Microsoft support works too.

If you install the "Exchange" plugin from the official Jolla store, you can directly connect to Microsoft Servers, including Calendars, etc. Both the Unisteristy where I work (University of Geneva and University of Lausanne) use such Microsoft servers, and the Exchange plugin works like a charm.

Oh, that sounds sweet!

Will it auto mount the SD card onto startup? And could there any compatibility issues with further updates of Sailfish, which I would need to look after?

You can automount if you add the SD card to your fstab.

As for compability; if the kernel changes enough then the modules need to be rebuilt (same is of course with all other filesystem drivers, except they normally came as "part of the package")

The fstab? Oh dude, I will try it, but have no idea what this means. Could you be so kind to give me a dummy step-by-step list? :)

I would very like it to use the SD Card as ExFAT.

Actually now that I checked it, seems that the Jolla device is running an automounter that should detect and mount your SD card under "/media/sdcard/something-or-other/" regardless what the filesystem type is, provided that the driver is loaded and the device recognized the fstype.

So seems there's no need to manually tweak /etc/fstab at all...

Hi juiceme, sounds great! I have installed the one file which is actually executeable and inserted the SD card (128gb). Unfortunately, nothing happened. No card detected. I also double checked if it's truly exFAT formatted. :) Any ideas?
