When going to meetings, I usually turn the phone to silent mode (sooo easy with Jolla). But very often coming out of the meetin I forget to turn sounds on again. And by looking at the phone (screen off) I can't tell the difference.

So, how about an option to use slowly blinking led to indicate, that I have the silent mode on ? Do we still have colours left ??

May be RingingRestorer from OpenRepos will help you? It automatically restoring ring after 15 minutes ~ 12 hours. Very usefull for me ;-)

Description from dev. ajalkane: "After you select 'silent' profile, the program will ask you how long you want this setting to last (max.12 hours). When this set time has passed, your regular ringing profile will be restored."

Ok, but you don't always know the duration of the meeting in advance. And you might forget to set that restorer on (and having to use additional operations to set phone silent would make it more tedious again).

Where do you get all these 'o's from? Ever heard of a ringer switch? I loved these on my palm treo 680/prē.

So in that case what should be blinking when your phone is in silent mode and you have missed a call?

For this i use different ambiences.

I got one for noisy environments (outside), one for quiet environments (at work/home) and one for environments/situations in which i want my phone to shut up (most of the time this when i go to sleep)

pro:

  • It's easy to see which ambience is active atm.
  • And also to switch from one to another.

If i could, i would change my "Mute phone"-lock-screen-pulley-item to something else...probably "Change ambience"

con:

  • well you have to reactivate the screen...

But I am wondering, why would you look at your phone without reactivating the screen? It just sounds like you are constantly looking back at your phone and try to read its mind XD

At work I usually keep my phone on the table, and yes, every now and then I glimpse on it to see, if there are any notifications.

Led would a perfect way to then notice "Oh, I have forgot my phone silent".
