These actionable notifications will allow you to respond to messages, reminders and invites without having to leave your app or unlock your phone.

When a text notification pops up at the top of your screen, simply swipe down and you’ll have access to your keyboard without having to switch to the Messages app. When an invite appears on your lock screen, swipe left and you’ll have the option to decline or accept.

How about actionable notifications in jolla? It will be cool if jolla includes in future SFOS 2.0 roadmap. And include this feature of closing notification by swipe. Its irritating when it stays for 3sec and u dont want it to display.

What are 'actionable notifications'? Could you edit your post to make it more clear?

You’re right. There’s no way to ignore a notification and sometimes it gets annoying.

This is a really great idea. I'd add that the actions should also be possible from apps, so that they could be invoked from the pebble smartwatch, for instance.

Nice idea. It could also be implemented into feeds. Like long hold on feed or notification opens dialog box and some button options underneath (like, retweet, +1) with keyboard popping up at same time and hiding after reply or button action.

When I understand your request right, then you want to have matching respond possibilities for all kind of notifications directly from/in notification view - so without switching to the corresponding app. Is that correct?

Actually thats a nice idea. But this would mean Jolla has to implement the app functionalities twice - one for the app, one for the notification view OR Jolla has to modularize all app functionalities in a way that one can use them from all over the system.

I dont know how much work this would be - but I think thats a lot! Anyway, nice idea and maybe Jolla can think about for future improvements.

Actually, if they have done it properly (and I think they have!), the backend is separate from the UI, so the active notifications would just be alternative UI, not too much to implement. They also already have some active "notifications", or more like system menus? for example when plugging USB-cable in. They probably could extend that so that they themselves and 3rd party developers could provide these active notification UIs.

I think it would really only be a matter of extending the frontend with the relative functionality (for example for texting window for text input + kb). This assumes we can have custom reactions to notifications - which we should have given notifications are due over dbus. Thing is that jolla in latest update made their notification icons to bring up the relative app. So best could be if we could rely on that mechanism to customize the action fired (when clicking on the notification / icon)
