You will probably have to reset phone to factory settings in Recovery Mode.

If you have had developer-mode and Wifi activated before updating plus you remember your password you should be able to fix it! Take your pc, make a remote connection via ssh client (windows) or just terminal (linux). Then you do: ssh nemo@ip-address of your jolla. If you're having touble to find the ip of your jolla you should get it from your Wifi-router, e.g. in some menu of the router should be client-menu, so all your wirelessly connected devices at your home network. If it doesn't say the name "Jolla" you may see only the MAC-address. In this case just try to ssh to these ip-addresses you think they might be the Jolla. Once you found it it will connect, answer yes when RSA-keyring question comes. You will see the home directory of your Jolla and you're just user not root. Type "Devel-su" and provide again your password. Then you can fix the broken update by: version --dup. Now just wait and check what it's doing. It should update the cache etc, then downloading again the update. If it fails you can report here again but in most cases "version --dup" should fix it. As reported earlier some people had more issues like @czdosi who used the "rpm -e --noscripts phonehook" trick but this is only if phonehook caused the error. Please try first the remote-access with "version --dup" and follow the progress! Good luck!
PS: It happened to me too now 2 times since I have my Jolla, so I'm not nervous any more if that happens
