So, big problem. I had massive problems with 1.1.4.29 (cardav/email/aliendalvik), I decided to factory reset. That went ok, starts up @ sailfish 1.0.8.something, but every time I try to run the update to 1.1.2.16 the install process breaks after roughly 70%. Then phone reboots to jolla-screen, gets black and thats it. Restarting gets me to the same point. Using 1.0.8.x (which is factory reset) is not an option, I tried, nothing I use under 1.1.2.16 works proper (threema, cal/cardav, cutespot, android notifications).
Also it does not show me the option to update to 1.1.4.29 again, even though I am suscribed to early access. I already tried to install/update via ssh, and also did a version --dup before upgrade, sadly nothing helps. Can not version --dup after the broken upgrade because the phone doese not start to a point where ssh could be established. Any ideas are welcome.

Hi krudsy, check out the page from Jolla, about recovery of your device, using Jolla Recovery Tool;

https://together.jolla.com/question/22079/howto-all-computer-users-recover-or-reset-a-device-that-is-stuck-in-boot-loop/

Ignore the subject line about "stuck in a boot loop" as this thread pertains to all to do with recovery of your Jolla.

Sorry to hear that. I'm in the same position, I'll try to contact Jolla's customer service again.

When factory reset, did you install or recover (backups) anything? If so, try > factory-reset > setup Jolla account > upgrade (with settings upgrade, not commandline!) > setup device to your needs

No backups, because that did also not work when trying the first time, phone was lying there for one and a half hour trying to recover. All other attemps were clean resets, no sd, no sim installed.

What happens if you do this: 1) Run factory reset in Recovery Mode. Your phone should now have 1.0.8.21 (or another old release) 2) Run the start up wizard but skip everything you can (no apps, no accounts) 3) Get Internet connection and sign in to your Jolla account. 4) Enable Developer Mode. 5) Using Terminal app or SSH give the commands:

ssu re 1.1.2.16
version --dup

6) Restart the phone. 7) Using Terminal app or SSH give the commands:

ssu re 1.1.4.29
version --dup

8) Restart the phone.

NB: Version 1.1.2.16 is a mandatory intermediate step. Updates from old OS versions to the latest must traverse via 1.1.2.16.
