The other day, while I was sleeping, my Jolla defaulted time and date to Jan. 1st, 1970, Helsinki time zone. It's always been set in automatic time update mode and I've never had this issue before. Manually setting time and date was possible, but as soon as I turned auto update on, I was set back to the '70s once again. A reboot didn't solve the issue.

I've then kept time and date manually set for a few hours, re-enabled auto update and this time the issue disappeared.

Any ideas on that?

Jan 1^st 1970 is the beginning of the Unix epoch, so I suppose the problem is that the time server for your operator is not working. I know for sure that most Italian operators do not have a working time service.

So I think that you should disable the automatic update if it does not work, it depends on the configuration of your GSM network.

@mikelima I've thought about that, but I also have an Android phone on the same network (same number, too), but it didn't show the issue.

What's your operator? Automatic date adjustment works OK for me in Elisa network at least.

Ahh, I somehow thought you had a Finnish operator since you mentioned it defaulted to Helsinki timezone.... My fault :)

Do you have possibility to borrow a simcard for a different operator from a friend, to test if it is a problem of Vodafone or if there is problem in the device?
