Please enable basic function: editing Mobile SIM contacts and relocating local contacts to a Mobile SIM
On using my Jolla Phone I found out,
that Jolla cannot edit Mobile SIM contacts and relocate local contacts to a Mobile SIM. So Jolla is here ignoring essential memory space and its a roundabout way that still another mobile phone is needed for using this essential basic function.
Talking to the support led to the answer, that Jolla has no actual plans to enable this basic function, every other mobile can since the beginning of mobile communication, but if I will find a lot of supporters they will enable it in a future Sailfish OS update.
So, who's with me?
I would appreciate if Jolla would make this essential basic function available in the near future with another SailfishOS update.
This feature is a must. It's disappointing that it has not been supported from day one. I use SIM cards as primary storage for contacts, since it's the safest way to avoid losing them and transporting them between phones.

I agree with you, totally!
@chemist: on modern SIM's you can save at least 250 - 500 contacts, depending on the chip used in the SIM.
JollaHB ( 2015-05-07 12:54:50 +0200 )editI always use SIMs for contacts (at least as a primary storage, then possibly I copy them into the phone, but keep the SIM updated) and SD cards for everything I can. This is the only way to protect your data from sudden device failures, such as falling into the toilet (it has happened to me with my N8 - really).

On my mobile SIM I can store 400 contacts, but for using this function, I need to remove my mobile SIM from Jolla and put it to any other mobile.
On Jolla itself I can only read mobile SIM contacts but not edit them or relocating local contacts to the SIM.
For relocating local Jolla contacts to the mobile SIM, I have to enter them on the other phone by hand again.
This is not only a roundabout way but also annoying.
VCards are not compatible with the mobile SIM storage format. So they are useless if a contact should be moved to a mobile SIM.
It reveals itself to me not why exactly Jolla blocked a basic function that every other mobile can since the beginning of mobile communication.
And it is equally impossible to understand why you can not edit SIM contacts on Jolla, but on every other mobile.
