Could it be that background-noise reduction is missing while using Android VoIP/calling applications? Whenever I use for example Skype or CSip, my background noises can be heard very well by the other person. Often actually better than my own voice, especially when it's loud & high-pitch sounds (screaming baby, train entering the train stations, etc...).

When I plug in my headphones (which include a microphone) the sound quality improves a lot for the recipient. At this point it is very difficult to make a VoIP calls without using an additional microphone or being in a quiet office/room.

Is the secondary microphone enabled in Alien Dalvik for noise-cancellation? Are there other Jolla users who made the same experience or could test it out? Thanks for everyone's help!

@zappAtom: Thanks for your comment. I hope that more people will be interested in that. So far, barely anymore seems to use Android VoIP apps (I wished I wouldn't have to, but Sailfish doesn't offer anything like that otherwise).
