On 1.1.4.29 or early release affected too, when selecting Media through Alien Gallary called from Whatsapp or Telegram apps you can't select appropriate video, because not all video clips has thumbnail pictures. And in contrast Native Gallary app show thumbnail for all clips.

hy, this is for security reasons. Android apps do not have access to the home folder "nemo" but only to android, which is a subfolder in your home directory (nemo). if you want to watch videos or pictures with an Android app,, you need to move those files into thefolder"android_storage". Needless to say that it has to be an original Sailfish filemanager otherwise it wont work.
oh, then I am mistaken. That means they have read but no write access. Therefore thumbnails can not be created.
