by some reasons it must be able to hide some specifig locations / folders or specific filters from Gallery / Mediaplayer preview or / and overview

Reasons coult be explicit, confidential, private or irrelevant pictures / movies who i don´t want to be showen in the preview / overview

Example: MP3 Album cover pic messes my gallery up or i don´t want my vacation pics in overview on my BYOD

Edit: This must easily controled and set by UI, so i could access hidden by demand

Theres a bunch of TJC questions that cover this already, but unless you know the name of the indexing service (tracker) they're pretty easy to miss.

Looks like adding a .nomedia file in the directory you want to blacklist does the trick

.nomedia will do the trick, but I had to reload media database and reboot to make it work.

tracker-control -se will drop the existing database and re-index, just give it time, and you can watch progress with tracker-control

.nomedia trick hides all media of directory :( . Something like .nopics / .novideos / .nosounds would be great. Simply I do not want to see album covers in Gallery for example. Or option/filters in Gallery like Camera/Received/All should solve it.
