[bug] wifi tethering does not actually start 8 times out of 10 [answered]
Hi, as in the subject, after 1.1.4 update is very hard to have wifi tethering working.
there are two main failure scenarios:
- the wifi network is not visible at all
- the wifi network is visible, the devices connect to it, but after few seconds the wifi network disappears.
On both scenarios the tethering settings show that tethering is enabled. I noted an higer failure rate if when enabling wifi tethering there is wifi on (not connected to any network but the radio is enabled). I also have the feel that Situations interferes with tethering but I don't have enough proof of that.
the behavior is the same if enabling wifi tethering under system settings or using the harbour tethering app.
I currently have to enable/disable tethering multiple times (5 up to to 10, sometimes) before getting a stable wifi network.
Please make wifi tethering more reliable.
EDIT 2015.06.05: This morning, while trying to succesfully start tethering, the wifi settings (SSID and key) were reset to default (SSID: Jolla password random generated). It is the second time it happens on 1.1.4, never happened in earlier versions.
This tethering issue is serious and should be fixed soon.
Have same issue, especially when it should connect to my car multimedia system...

I have found Wifi tethering and bluetooth interfere with each other, e.g. Wifi disconnects/fails to connect when bluetooth is active or bluetooth devices do not pair if wifi is active. Still, it is annoying, but i am not sure it is a software problem or a hardware limitation.
