Why is the 3G/2G network icon visible when data is turned off Should't the radios for them, be turned off and not even detect if 2G/3G network is available when data is off.

I think Jolla works like it should here. Most Android phones only show 3G and 2G icons during active data connection which is kind of misleading, because of course you are connected to the mobile network even if there is no data connection open.
