I just upgraded to 2.0.0.10. The Sailfish browser does not work for me in this version, at all.
When I try to load any website or even just about:
, the browser's status bar indicates that something is being loaded, but the actual content area always remains completely white. After a while, the status bar also disappears, and I am left with a completely blank white screen. After waiting some more, a system "Browser is not responding, please wait / close" dialog shows up. Waiting does not help. Indeed, watching top
in a terminal window, at this phase I see that the browser uses close to 100% CPU and allocates more and more memory (on the order of 1% of additional system memory every five seconds).
This happens both in private and normal browsing modes. It happens for jolla.com
, other websites I tried (even ones with very little simple HTML and no fancy CSS or JavaScript) and, as I said, even for about:
.
I tried rebooting the phone, but it didn't help (of course). Does anyone else have this problem? It is quite severe to me. (I use the Firefox for Android for my normal browsing, but my Twitter client insists on opening links in the Sailfish browser, and this is now completely broken. Does anyone happen to know if Tweetian can be hacked to open links in Firefox?)
