I often ran into the situation that it is required to shake a smartphone to make sure display orientation is the way I want it to (maps, gallery, websites...). If a smartphone is placed on a table, it's usually required to pick it up and shake it to change orientation.
I tried to figure out what the best solution would be. First, I was thinking about a sensor that's checking the position of the eyes. But then I thought it would be easier to let the front cam do this and let it do the work.
So maybe this is something that could be implemented in SailfishOS, be it with a patch or as a real feature of the OS. I just don't think any of the accelerometers do their job well.
