If I ignore an incoming call I'm unable to lock the phone using the power button. If I swipe to the home screen and do a down swipe the screen locks as expected.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Ignore incoming call
  2. Try to lock the phone using the power button

Result: Nothing happens

Expected result: Locked phone

maybe this issue is for that case "maybe I change my mind", or to avoid from accidental key press.

The proximity sensor should prevent "pocket presses".

But the power button also fails to lock the device when the phone app is swiped away and the home screen is showing.

The reason why it works like it does is:

  • When there is an incoming call in ringing status -> the power button is reserved for ignoring the call
  • Ignoring the call is handled within the call ui and does not actually change the call status -> the power button remains reserved for ignoring the call

This is a known problem and internal ticket exists for it, but so far other things have taken precedence over it.

EDIT:

Feedback from call ui to mce will be added and it will be possible to use power key normally after the call has been ignored. The fix will not make to 2.0.1 though.
