I'd like the possibility to replace the default twitter action when notifications pop up. Instead of opening the browser to the web version of twitter, i'd like to select to open for example tweetian or other client. This would also be great for when facebook clients start to arrive.

Update 29-10-2015: Still no official word on this, 2 years after this fairly obvious request has been made?

Yes! Tweetian is a fantastic app!

Don't know of a Facebook alternative native app, but it could also start the android app.

I am not sure what has changed in the last year, but instead of telling the default light-weight twitter integration to call a third-party app on click, wouldn't it be the tidier way to have the third-party app trigger the event notification itself and handle it? At least that's the behavior I would have expected.

Yes, invoking native client (configurable) would be the much desired behavior.

Should be done for all default apps. We need to be able to set the default apps ourselves.

(+1) which is done by creating/editing *.desktop files at /usr/share/applications. I think it could already be done now, there's just a lack of documentation and a GUI would be nice. More info on this issue can also be found in this thread: https://together.jolla.com/question/87490/possibility-to-add-a-url-handler-for-an-android-app/

yes I know - but this means I have to open every single file by hand. Therefore I need a file manager and the knowledge how to write the correct call for my new default app. Almost impossible for a non-tech user - compared to a simple pop-up in android where you can set directly the default app. I think Sailfish has there the potential to be better than android - in any way.

which is why I also requested a GUI for this action. :)

yes sorry - didn't see this part.... I realised that I didn't write about .desktop file and wanted to avoid to drive the talk to command line fiddling... Take my upvote :)

Don't be sorry and also vote/contribute for the thread if you find it helpful. ;) I think this is a great place to discuss a great OS, share our findings and assemble them to a suitable solution (even if provisional). Where else do you have the possibility to correct insufficiencies way before there is an official update?

Yes! There is a big need to improve this behaviour!

2 options: -Choosing default app for example for each social network -Changing the last 10 tweets wall to a more complete wall. I'd like to find on it, mentions, retweets and DMs.

Cause as it is currently notifications center is useless as we must add a twitter client for use it correctly. Browser solution is just in emergency case and not convenient at all.

I don't use Facebook so I can't give an opinion.

For Facebook there is Friends.

Also, with the May/June update they are improving the feed screen I read so I will hope this is one of the improvements.
