Sometimes google IM disconnects and the messaging app shows:
Problem with connecting to ***@gmail.com.
Check your connection and settings.
Connection and settings are fine. Sending a message triggers a reconnect:
Connecting to ***@gmail.com...
And after a few seconds it connects and delivers the message. I have found no way of reconnecting without sending a message to someone. This is extremely annoying for two reasons:
Phone disconnects from the google talk network, incoming messages no longer show up. Phone does not automatically reconnect. It should periodically try to reconnect by itself even if for some time it was offline.
There is even no way of manually reconnecting without bothering some contact with a "dummy" message.
