The Jolla Tablet is available in all EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia, India, Hong Kong and Russia. Shipments for earlier Indiegogo contributors will start in early September, and shipments to pre-order customers from this phase are expected to start in the end of October.

You can read more about it on the Jolla Blog or jolla.com.

For some transparency, especially here on TJC, it's good to mention about the customs duties (varying by country). These are import products from Hong Kong, not delivered by Jolla Oy, according to Terms and conditions

What is 24% VAT then if not shipped from Finland?

The payment, in all orders, goes to Jolla Oy, Finland

The price in pre-order shop is the full price in Finland and in many other countries, even that products are delivered from Hong Kong, so my comment is only remarkable for part of the customers. Quote from shop:

"Please note that if you are ordering to Åland Islands, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, or United States you are responsible for paying all applicable customs charges upon delivery. Tax, customs fees and other applicable customs charges are not included in the pre-order price at the Jolla Pre-Order Online Shop."

Limited batch? Surely the Tablet will go on regular sale just like the Jolla Phone?

Seems that the first chargé was a bit Higher than what was stated. Did jolla take tax at first puchase?

Since approx 7200 tablets was sold to indiegogos. Did jolla order 10.000 batch and now got approx 2000 tablets for sale?

I hope it is a variable order plan within a given timeframe. Meaning if the first batch is sold out quickly, no manufacturer would hasitate to reproduce if everythig is still in place to do it again? guessing..

Excuse me, but selling what exactly, as long as not even December orders are yet fulfilled?! And what will be the premium for early contributions, if the regular sale price is so similar? Nevertheless, still looking forward - although I never ever had to wait for a purchase for so long. If I don't get it this week, I'll see it only in December, because i'll be out of the country. But nice try, Jolla… OK yours was not a question so this is not an answer :-(

Just to remind. We did not purchase anything, but took part in a crowd funding campaign. The purchase option is first mentioned here and it is very fair of Jolla to explicitly deliver crowdfunding tablets first. Sorry to hear thou that delivery will hit you in absence. My condolances!

This behavior is typical for crowdfunding. People that supported from the beginning pay long in advance and wait a long time, generally with some (relatively minor) delays. People that didn't support get an opportunity, at the very end, to also order, with a higher price and almost no delay. I don't see anything unusual here. When I go the crowdfunding way, which is the case here, I'm ready to wait (generally longer than the first announcement), and I'd say the only critical thing is not the delay it's the credibility of the vendor. I considered Jolla credible, I still do, and I hope receiving my tablet within one month. I'm also aware that people ordering now will get it way faster than me, relatively. My only concern indeed, is I'd have various other family candidates here for this new batch, but they want to see mine before (which I understand), and because of that I fear the current batch may be over once I got my own tablet...

Call it what you may – this is generally speaking a “purchase”. I have neither received, nor heard of any delivery announcement (except to developers) until the end of August, 2015, eight months after being among the first few thousand “subscribers” (or call it any other name). The Jolla team did seem to have little time left for communications, understandably. Otoh, how complex is a regular, concise, honest NL? I do look forward to the tablet, but I am already disappointed by the wait. These are gadgets, it is ridiculous, no good Karma and dismal PR to have to wait so long for one… So indeed, selling exactly what and delivering when to whom?
