ICS attachment saved as TXT

Hello,

the German Deutsche Bahn sends emails with a PDF ticket and an ICS calendar file upon reservation. The ICS has text/plain as MIME type (unusual, but not wrong, I believe).

1) Unfortunately this seems to confuse the mail client's ICS attachment logic, so that the small calendar icon in the list of mails is not displayed.

2) If I want to save the ICS, a .TXT suffix is added implicitely. So I have to open the file browser, find the correct entry in the mail_attachments directory and rename the file, before I can import it into my calendar. Somewhat cumbersome.

Is this a bug in the mail client, or do I have to blame Deutsche Bahn for using an incorrect MIME type?

Thanks and regards, Florian

RFC 2046:

Plain text is intended to be displayed "as-is", that is,
no interpretation of embedded formatting commands, font attribute
 specifications, processing instructions, interpretation directives,
or content markup should be necessary for proper display.

I.e., the DB is using incorrect MIME type. text/calendar should be used.

Ok, i wrote to DB. Thanks for quoting the RFC.

But I still wonder, why the .TXT suffix is added on saving the attachment. I propose to leave the file name (including suffix) as-is on saving, indepentent of the MIME type.
