Settings app doesn't anymore (since 1.1.9.28 early access Einehenlampi) show me in the active cover whether there is data connection (WLAN/mobile) active or not. I consider this as a bug, please fix it before the official release!

TL;DR: Settings active cover is missing, we need it back!

Those indicators are transferred to the upper right corner of the homescreen, do I guess right? It's still strange that backward compatibility is broken without reason, the active cover wouldn't cost anything -- it's now empty, earlier it was in use. I don't see the point if this.

Those indicators are transferred to the upper right corner of the homescreen,

You mean in the android ripoff statusbar? It doesn't show e.g. mobile data if you're connected to both wlan and mobile, and it doesn't show if GPS is enabled.

My guess is that people will use the quick buttons in the event screen, which will arrive in the next update (phone), and therefore people wont use the settings app as often as before.

@Tanghus - I'm currently connected to Wi-Fi and for me the status bar shows Wi-Fi signal strength, mobile network (4G) and its signal strength. GPS works as before, blinking icon when searching for location but you're right, there should be an indicator showing wether GPS in on/off. However this will be introduced in the next update.

There is a statusbar now, holding all the precious details. (I like to have the cover showing it too though.)

The indicators were removed on purpose as new design, read from the change log. So not broken, re-made...

I'm bad at finding things, but all I can find is

  • [jolla-settings] Update cover design. Fixes JB#29280

It doesn't describe wether status icons are removed or not. I'd prefer to have them there.

Me too, changelog indicates that there's new cover design, but it doesn't mention that active covers' functionality has been reduced.

I was hoping that they'll take a step into another direction: Two cover actions, first one is to change cover action and the second one is to commit that cover action. So e.g. by cover-swiping to left, you could change which toggle you want to affect and by doing cover-swipe to right, you make this choice. E.g. if you have WLAN active, the second cover action could default to toggling it on/off and the first cover action to choose another setting, e.g. mobile data to be toggled by the second cover action. Not easy to explain, hope you got the idea :)

@hzb cycling through all the things we can toggle is not a really fast way. Especially if you are one step ahead the toggle you want to change. Consider you may need four left and one right swipe for a single action. I think it's better to have the 2 most used toggles available by the two actions, all other are only one tap away: by opening the settings app. If you can set here your preferred cover action, you are fine to adapt any condition: if you are on tour you can have e.g. flight mode and mobile Data for fast access and in your home city WLAN and BT or so.
