[regression] Notes active cover and in-app previews - previous was better! (1.1.9/Eineheminlampi)
Active cover of Jolla's Notes app is not as good as before. The only setting seems to be sharing format, so no help. Why this change?
Earlier you could easily write a short shopping list into Notes app and use the active cover in 4 app mode to read it directly from homescreen. Very handy. Now impossible.
Added screenshot. Note that in the notes cover, there are 4-6 more characters in each row that are not visible. Also newlines are ignored. The note reads:
Apps
Alarm
Note
Sms schedule
Qr reader
Led changer
Short url
2018-05-02 Edit by Drekkarian: To further add "consistency", now the previews of the notes inside the Notes app are ruined as well, just like the cover view. Newlines are ignored and the result is a useless array of gibberish which completely ruins the design of notes.
Apologies for taking over this question, but I didn't want to add a duplicate and could not resist saying something about this.
Agreed. I thought it was just a placeholder before new cover was implemented, but it seems that it made it to 1.1.9.28... It looks like the chief designer was on vacation :)

nthn ( 2015-09-09 23:24:40 +0200 )editCare to post a screen? @hzb, have you used Tasklist? I am addicted to it with the very same use case you are quoting here.
piero ( 2015-09-17 20:09:30 +0200 )editTasklist is great! But I agree with this post. It seems they wanted to make app covers more distinct, to each have their recognizable look – but in this one they forgot that the old one was functional, whereas the new one isn't. And besides, it doesn't look good. :)
ssahla ( 2015-09-17 21:36:42 +0200 )edit"Lists" app from Jolla Store is also great. But I still wonder if Jolla and Sailfish would be more successful with that previous functional active cover. Active covers are not only for fun, they are shortcuts to do certain things faster. For exactly that very same reason I'm against that extra blink-blink delay in the new pulley menu https://together.jolla.com/question/107812/the-new-pulley-menu-is-simply-awful-11928eineheminlampi/
