1.1.9/Einehenlampi [early access] Android apps can't access media stored on SD card [released]
On Sailfish 1.1.9 it looks like Android apps such as Gallery (and other photo/video apps), FB Messenger, Skype, Music players, etc. can't access any media files stored on the SD card. This is a regression from Björnträsket, where it took ages for new media files to show up on the Android side (which seems to have been fixed), but access to files on the SD card worked.
Steps to reproduce (e.g.): 1. Take a photo with the camera 2. Open e.g. FB Messenger send photo (or Skype send photo). The photo is selectable 3. Move the photo to the SD card under Pictures/Camera 4. The photo disappears from FB Messenger selection 5. The photo's still visible in the native Gallery app
Try to stop and start the Android Support from the Settings. It's probably related to this bug.

jannuhat ( 2015-09-29 13:09:03 +0200 )editTry again by upgrading to SFOS 2.0.1.7 Taalojärvi (either apply for Early Access or wait for the official release of said OS version).
This is what is to be expected (among other things) from the release of 2.0.1.7
[release notes] 2.0.1.7/Taalojärvi [Early Access] Android Support:
I tested for this fix with Jolla Tablet and OS version 2.0.1.7 Taalojärvi and indeed the "behaviour" has been fixed. Now you can access external SDCard within Android app(s) without any gimmicks and user-made patents.
Be sure to test the fix that it also works with Jolla phone either opting for Early access or waiting for the official release of Taalojärvi.
Also: no need for shutting down and restarting Android support between OS restarts anymore.
