Connection to a hidden SSID fails after internet sharing is used.

How to reproduce:

  1. Connect to a wi-fi with hidden SSID.
  2. Share Jolla’s mobile net over wi-fi.
  3. Disable Jolla’s internet sharing.
  4. You can no longer connect to the wi-fi network with hidden SSID.

It does not reconnect even if I reboot the phone. The only way to reconnect is to temporarily unhide the SSID. (Or maybe to completely re-add the network to Jolla but that would be harder.) Jolla reconnects to the wi-fi network as soon as I unhide it. It keeps connected even if I hide it again.

What security protocol your hidden WiFi uses (wpa/wpa2/web/...)? Does changing that have any impact on this issue?

Is this your own network? You should really consider re-enabling SSID broadcast, as hiding it is actually an anti-security and anti-privacy feature.

Wy WiFi uses wpa2 security. How is hiding SSID an anti-security feature?

because it causes your device to broadcast your SSID wherever it goes. As you say, you're using WPA2, hiding your SSID gains you nothing.

Okay. But this still is a bug that needs fixing.

Tried to reproduce the issue you are having but my device re-connects the hidden SSID just fine (and automatically).

Is it visible in the scan results?

No, it is not visible in the scan results. And in the list of saved networks it shows no signal.

I have two SSIDs on my router. One for my personal use and one I share with friends (just because I wan’t to keep my network harddrive to my private use only). Could this matter? The shared one is not hidden.

I think hidden networks are not supposed to be visible in the scan results. They wouldn’t be hidden otherwise...
