show a collection of speed-dial bookmark definitions ( if user-opted in carousel-settings )

Even though I posted this a while ago within the jolla blog I'm doing it here again to make it votable for a hopefully improved SFOS 2 experience ...

Something alike might be possible with 2.0 partnerscreen but the old topic on this one is this https://together.jolla.com/question/30887/make-the-partner-screen-configurable/

are you aware that you are requesting 4 additional pages (all your carousel requests) to the carousel while the home-screen can have them as active covers and you be much faster?

@chemist: IMHO the amount of information you can display on an active cover is severely limited and the means of interaction with the active cover are also limited (to basically two buttons).

On the other hand a separate carousel page makes the whole screen + scrolling and provides much richer means of interactions (arbitrary number of buttons and clickable elements, pulley menu, long pres actions, gestures, etc.).

So I don't really think carousel pages and active covers are really comparable - unless active covers are massively expanded so that individual covers can be made larger and provided improved means of interaction (AKA widgets).

@MartinK yes, I understand, but he is requesting one carousel page after another, without even looking for duplicates, and this one is specially easy to create as persistent quick cover even with 2 cover-actions for even easier access to two items. And then there is the 3rd page we do not have yet but iirc it was promised to serve as a page where you can pin an app to. There is no purpose for 3+ carousel pages as you loose the navigational advantage in the second you add the fourth page, so a persistent cover will be faster in terms of how to navigate there and how fast it can be reached.

I don't think it makes sense to add (too) many pages to the caroussel since eventsview is part of the caroussel itself. When there are many pages in the caroussel, going to eventsview would require endless sidewise swyping. For 1.0 it would have make sense to have a caroussel with different info and shortcut pages since eventsview had its dedicated space and action (bottom edge swipe), though.
