How about supporting Vivaldi mail?

I think that both Jolla and Vivaldi company share similar ideas and values like privacy and honesty, so is there any chance for the support for the Vivaldi platform (i. e. mail, calendar, contacts)? Vivaldi Mail (https://webmail.vivaldi.net/) is now really good alternative to other well-known services.

What exaclty should be supported?

Just configure imap and start sending & receiving:

as far as I know they support caldav, (calendar sync) but I'm not sure about cardav. So basically: with contact sync vivaldi needs to implement the existing standard.

I know that it can be configured quite easily if you have some basic knowledge, but I think it would be great to support similar ideas, because for me using google account on jolla is just ridiculous.

What exactly do you mean with similar ideas? There are hundrets of online platforms offering mail, calendar, contacts ... and even office tools and so forth (mailbox.org / posteo.de / mykolab to name a few which are not located in the US ;) ) . And most of them have also implemented the neccessary standards to sync mail / calendar entries / contact data. You are not forced to use google at all.

Well, they develop their browser and other services exactly to the needs of the users and they boast about taking care of users' privacy (that's why their servers are located in Island). I just really like it, so if it's not a huge amount of work to implement it I would be really pleased to see it in my Jolla.

I didn't know Vivaldi; they seem to appear as an uncluttered but otherwise quite normal, private email supplier. Don't they have POP and IMAP interfaces? (so that I expect one would just connect with them through the normal Jolla mail app)

Some sort of preset for the service you can use when setting up email account on the Jolla ? Or even support for creating a new account directly from the UI.
