First of all, I don't have thanks words powerful enough to share the gratitude on publishing the https://sailfishos.org/developmentroadmap/ and updating it on regular phases during this year. It's been one awesome effort to show some true transparency, and one of the most interesting sites to follow and guess what is happening and when.

By my experience, and by these thanks, I hope it's a neverending story soon updated with 1st quarter of 2016 and the main goals for the whole year (or it's halves). I guess it was coming even without this request, so this is maybe more a thanks post to show support for such an effort to keep'em coming in the future as well.

As a sidenote, no worries that some of the plans are postponed or left aside, no worries that plans might change while the boat sails on. It's life.

It'll be very interesting to see what's up for 2016 in your development roadmap and how much the feedback on TJC has affected on those plans. One more time: Thanks a lot for what's already done! Just Unlike!

As far as I know SailfishOS community meeting does not have anything to do with updating the roadmap..

Thanks Simo for the post! We will be updating that page as soon as we build the ground for it. Right now, with the latest press release, we are showing that "Something new is cooking for the Sailfish OS community" and as a follow up, we will update this page when the special program is announced.

Cheers.

May i ask you (jolla) not to tease stuff. Just announce/surprise when ready.

They demand an answer, and that's what I gave. I would not tease if I wasn't sure about what I'm saying :)

James, I appreciate your enthusiasm and taking care of the loose ends. However, may I remind Jolla the Company that it's all about openess (both in software and communication) and fixing an unfinished product . Statements like something new is in the cooking is totally unappropiate. There is a decent backlog of bugs and initiatives that I am expecting Jolla to take on. If Jolla simply doesn't deliver over a long period of time, there is no reason to stick with SFOS. Prospective statements do not help, especially given Jolla's track record regarding announcements. Don't talk about it, deliver.

It will be delivered. I am basically put into a situation that I have to talk about some things that are not ready yet. I can't just go out and fix everything I read and then comment what I have done or not. There are roadmaps, schedules, lack of personnel and many other factors to consider when we are talking about a company. I appreciate your comment but I simply do not have the power to just "do". It doesn't work like that, sadly. It does however work like this: I read the feedback, I take it into consideration, I go ahead and see if it's going to be/can be done, then after all of that I'll comment on the issue according to what I've found out.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, @kryca .

While the answer by @James clearly states that the page (roadmap) will be updated when the special program is announced, I don't mind about having a teaser included ;) Marking this as accepted, and let's close this question after that update is in place. Just GREAT that we'll get the roadmap back on the map :D

For next year:

Improved base apps to professional level.

Calender

Camera see my post on camera sw

Documents to include possibility of simple word processing, creation of presentations and spreadsheet editing. This would singly raise the sailfish professional use many steps.

Possibility to use other linux graohics like gtk if not too difficult. Would greatly increase possible apos tremendously.

Continued work on the base system with increased integrated functionality with other major linux fkavours to increase available software.Would be a killer on jilla tablets.

Thanks for this possibikity. Cheers and kiitos

Are you a Jolla employee? I was under the impression that the original post was a shout out to Jolla, not a "wish list" incentive.

@nodevel and even that, what makes simo think they will not continue posting quarterly roadmap updates?!
