Issue with a failed download - notification keeps re-appearing

I've got an odd little issue which I'm hoping you guys can help with.

A few days back I had a music file downloading when the connection dropped out and the notifications menu showed up "download2.mp3 - download unsuccessful". Which is fine, however every time I clear the notification it then re-appears around half an hour later.

Normally I'd go in and remove the half-complete download which should make the notification vanish, but unfortunately it's via an Android app and has decided to download to a folder I don't have access permissions to.

Anyone got any tips as to how I can either a) get rid of the notification for good or b) ideally obtain access to the android folders that I don't have permission to view/edit?

I'm experiencing this at the moment, has any solution been found without me having to reset the device?

Erase /home/nemo/.mozilla/mozembed/downloads.json

I have the exact same issue with an Android app, 100's of failed download notifications. How do you stop these? Answer to delete mozilla downloads.json seems related to native rather than Android downloads. How do you stop the Android notifications?

I cleared this issues one time a bit ago. I downloaded an android app called download manager or something. Then I opened it and deleted the failed download. Since then I didn't have anymore issues.

That solution worked for me, thank you!

pfff fine for a short time. I understand that the issue is annoying but that's just a workaround, you didn't solve the issue with it....
I don't tell not to use it. If it's useful to calm down. then it is good.
But that's not the definitive solution....

This is still a bug in SFOS 3.0.3.10! Although the tip erasing /home/nemo/.mozilla/mozembed/downloads.json removes the issue, this is still very annoying. Downloads view

it seems to be two issues, one with the SfOS browser and one with android. I did start to get this issue with the browser after SfOS 3.0.3. Never have had it with Android (yet).

If you have developer mode enabled, you can use devel-su to access at least some of the restricted android folders. I don't know if there's any solution without developer mode.

just install “android download manager” or any “android launcher” (download manager comes with it). Then go clear the download from download manager. this will fix the repeated notification.

i myself tried the ZenUi Launcher and fixed the problem. :)

In my case this happens on Sailfish side and there is nothing in Download Manager.

that's just a workaround, which may help if it goes on the nerve. but it's not THE solution

Each time I use the Jolla browser, a new notification appears. This does not happen when I use another browser like the Qwant app.

Kea ( 2020-01-06 23:02:13 +0200 )edit

With an update of APKPure on my phone this repeating notification has stopped. What is going on?

Kea ( 2020-01-08 19:34:30 +0200 )edit

Update: I tried to download an audiobook again and the same problem appeared:.repeating notification of a failed download. So it has nothing to do with APKPure. Using Utilities does not help. Jolla team, can you fix this bug?

Kea ( 2020-01-12 12:44:51 +0200 )edit

Yep, I have the same issue here too. Quite annoying to have to mess about with system files each time it happens, but it happens regularly and with all different filetypes.
