Calendar reminder can be hard to notice

It seems to me that calendar reminder only reminds three times if the user doesn't respond to it in any way (could easily happen if the device is silenced, and/or there is enough background noise to block the sound, and the device is not directly in view at the time(s) the reminder kicks in). After three reminders, there is currently not even a blink of an LED to tell the user that there's something worth noticing. I've not tested fully if the count of three starts again if the user postpones the reminder or not, but still the reminder "gives up" way before the event start time. I'm not quite sure at this point if the reminder could be postponed more than thrice, either.

I don't know why I can't find a matching question for this since I think this is rather basic thing that should work better. It's also been like this already long time, if not from the start, and it still is the same in 2.0.0.10. I tend to have early reminders occasionally, and as the first reminder might be too early to actually get up and go, I'd need the reminder to keep telling me that soon I need to go (for example, when 1 hour before the event is too late but 2 hours before is still way too early). If something like https://together.jolla.com/question/98151/feature-request-nagging-calendar-event-reminder/ or https://together.jolla.com/question/95748/feature-request-having-multiple-reminder-on-a-calendar-event-needed/ were to be implemented to make reminders and/or postponing them more flexible, it might be that three reminders would be enough (as well as in the case if there was a LED blink for missed events, see the link above).

Edit 12.11.2015: added clarifications of the use cases + related questions

Edit 13.11.2015: linked to Holger's Q on the LED blink, making this only consider the reminder repetition

I agree. Most of the time I seem to miss it. It would be nice if we can see a summary of events for the day in the notifications.

@nkadithya The missed events are shown in the events view already, and also in the lock screen, but if the user doesn't touch the device, the reminder is easy to go unnoticed. As for how today's events are shown in the events view, I think there is a question/improvement request already in TJC.

i don't understand why the calendar application has no configuration possibility... the kind of reminder if it need 3 or x time to reminder, with led or not, vibration or not and so on, could be configurable in its configuration menu...

Reopening after dropping off the part about the LED.

There is already a identical request, so this is a duplicate:

Thus closing.

Didn't spot that one (got my vote now), but then again I was searching for calendar reminder related things as that is my main point - why only three reminders? If adding more flexible settings for the reminders is seen as too much work with too little gain allowing the reminder to go on would surely be easier to fix at least. The LED issue is only half of the question (I dropped the LED part from this). Of course, IF the LED blink was there, constant reminders would likely become less necessary, I admit.
