Sending sms stopped working after installing Saimaa

Hi guys My Jolla stopped sending sms today after I installed Saimaa update. When I compose a message and press send, the message window closes and nothing happens. Also the message app is not showing my contacts' names, just numbers. I checked the people app and my contacts are intact.

Also the phone is not working. It does not open at all. It just flashes the phone window on the screen but nothin happens.

I am not Jolla savvy, just a normal user. So the phone is not in developer mode or anything like that.

I have rebooted the phone twice, and taken the battery off ones. Did not help.

Is anyone else facing this problem? I'm in trouble if I can't get the phone working.

Forgot to say that yhe phone does receive sms messages, but the sending is not possible.

Hi KaisaQ, just edit your original question, no need to comment here. It's important that all your info goes into your first post :)

Now a question for you; Is Patchmanager installed on your device?, if so, did you disable all patches before updating to Saimaa?

Patchmanager is a 3rd party app for patching parts of the OS. If you didn't install it then my question is redundant. First, see if you can make a backup of your device (Settings>Backup), once you've made a back up, transfer it to your PC for safe keeping, then go to Settings>Reset device and update to Saimaa again. If you don't want to reset for some reason, then you will need to enable Developer Mode and try a few commands from there to see if you can repair the OS.
