Critical problem with the app registry

Im getting this error quite often using my jolla. I have tried a number of things including the utilities function to clear the cache, but an indication that something is a little more wrong is given when I tried pkcon refresh in terminal - where it gave me the error (0%) The daemon crashed mid-transaction!

It forgets my locations in the weather app and disconnects from WLAN randomly. There are a few similar questions on TJC, but they seem to have been solved.

Im about to give up on the ecosystem to be honest. Id been hoping for a new device announcement and this has pretty much pushed me over the edge.

check allocation with btrfs-balancer allocation in terminal as devel-su

Ive done that - the allocation is 96% (nothing like the reality - I have > 3Gb free) however the balance function fails giving the error - please free up more space and try again. I don't have many things left to delete without deleting apps, and I cant do that because the app registry is corrupt

This morning the phone was unusable, I have taken the SIM out, put it in a windows phone taken that to work and ordered a new sony z5. I'll hopefully resurrect the jolla as a toy in the future, but for now it's goodbye. I realise I can do a factory reset, but I will still need to consult little changes to contacts made over the last while so I don't want to lose them. I also feel Ive spent far too long just trying to make my phone work normally. If I ever receive the tablet I'll keep up with jolla things there..

Hi @Ryan, I've just encountered this error (The daemon crashed mid-transaction!) while in Terminal. The fix for me was this;

ssu domain sales

ssu ur

pkcon refresh

Now refreshing completes as it should.
