Minor bug in interface for configuring Caldav-account
When creating a new Caldav-account, the default description/name of the account in the account list is "CalDAV & CardDAV" and the user name is displayed under the description. But when you open the account, the description field shows the user name instead. When you edit the description, the edited version is displayed correctly both in the account list and in the account settings display.
Version: Saimaa, 2.0.0.10
Noticed that the same apply also for a regular e-mail account. Perhaps it's supposed to be that way? Anyway, to me it's slightly confusing.
TomC ( 2015-11-17 11:18:26 +0200 )editIt looks deliberate to me. And for a good reason too. I do not have Ca*DAV but I have one Exchange and 6 General email accounts. The account names defaulting to the username is a useful hint. You can rename it at any time.
pichlo ( 2015-11-17 14:52:56 +0200 )editBut the user name is displayed in the list in any case. If I set the description to user name, the type of the account is displayed as name/description in the list. And I do think it's fine that you see the type of account and user name in the list if you want that. But it's a bit misleading that the description field in the settings then displays the user name. If I see "CalDAV & CardDAV" and "user name" in the list and want to change "CalDAV & CardDAV" to something else, I would search for a field where it says "CalDAV & CardDAV" in the settings and not a field where the username is displayed.
But this is highly subjective. I'm not claiming I'm absolutely right. This is just how I see it.
